Dear England,
I don’t know exactly when I will see you again but I will definitely be visiting soon. The weather today is grey and drizzly. It is so nice to see the Great British weather at its best before I leave.
Today is the day I move to India!
The last 24 hours have been completely overwhelming. The day that my husband and I have been longing for is finally here and it doesn’t feel real. Months and months of dreaming about being back together and now it is actually happening!!
I cried all night last night. I felt something I had never felt before, overjoyed and really sad at the same time. There was a heavy feeling in my chest as I sobbed, I started to realise it was my last night in England and soon the first day back in India. I guess it’s what you could call ‘bittersweet’. It is so strange to think that I will no longer be living here. I am going to miss my family and friends so much and, as you can imagine, saying goodbye has been extremely difficult. I am feeling emotionally exhausted and physically drained before I’ve even boarded the plane. I also have a huge feeling of relief and gratitude, my dream of being with my husband is now coming true.
This very airport is the place where I first laid eyes on my husbands face, it seems fitting that it will also be the final place I will be before falling back into his arms.
So here it goes, the next chapter of my life starts now, a new adventure. I’ve applied my sindoor myself for the last time, no more living without my husband. Thank you everyone for your support and best wishes, it means so much to me!! I simply cannot express my gratitude enough.
Lots of love,
Lauren
Much love and many good wishes for your life with your new husband. May you be worlds unto each other and know great joy! Namaste, Ellen

Good luck to you both and I hope you have a wonderful married life together. You already know it can be hard to live in India but the wonderful relationships and culture also make it immensely rewarding. And you can always come back, you know – loads of Indians live overseas and just visit regularly 🙂
